Does every company need an AI chatbot?
The short answer
Not unless it can do something. A chatbot that repeats your FAQ page is a FAQ page with extra steps and some anxiety. The useful version completes a task: it changes the booking, issues the refund, updates the address, and tells the person it's done. So the real question isn't whether to have a chatbot. It's which tasks people come to you to get done, and which of those could be finished without someone in the middle. Pick one. Measure how long it takes today and how often it goes wrong. Build the thing that finishes that task, with a clear handoff to a person when it can't. Then track how often it actually finishes the task without a person stepping in. If the bot can't do anything, it's a search bar with feelings. Customers can tell.
Outcome first
- Let people finish a task.
- Not chat about it.
