Do more AI agents mean more output?
The short answer
No. More agents mean more review. Agents rarely fail loudly. They fail politely: they report the task as done, and the work isn't there. Every agent you add is another stream of output someone has to check, so the bottleneck moves from doing the work to verifying it. Before adding agents, decide what a finished result looks like and how you'd check it quickly. Give each agent a clear job, a definition of done, and a place to record what it actually did. Then add agents only as fast as you can review what they produce. The number of agents is not the outcome. The number that moved is. Running a lot of agents is mostly supervision. Of very fast, very confident interns. The useful question isn't how many agents you can run. It's how much finished work you can verify in a day.
Outcome first
